PIGFACE POINT GUIDED TOUR IN PICTURES: Set 2.

honey

The honey extracting site.  One hive keeps the two households in honey.

The extractor is a centrifuge, home made for about5% of the price of a bought machine.  The wax is melted down

for craft and hobby use, especially candles land modeling/sculpting.

HQ

The boys' HQ.

A two storey shed built as a hobby workshop and store, from mud and recycled tin.

cottage

The caretaker’s cottage, home-made in 1972 taking six months spare time, for $7,500 (in 1989 dollars, built to council standards).

The cost could have been much lower had it been built from mud.

Housing provides powerful arguments for The Simpler Way.  Large numbers of people can’t afford a house, yet anyone could build a small,

very cheap and beautiful house for themselves, from earth, and enjoy the activity...with the assistance of experienced local people, paying in work done for others.
